Uniforms in May, Deepawali in October: 2017 with the children
In 2017 Indradhanush volunteers took new school uniforms to the children in May and November, and celebrated Deepawali with them in every settlement.

The school year began on 14 May 2017 with balloons: at a programme at the Foundation's office the children received their new school uniforms, bags and a gift each, two weeks before they would perform at the annual function.
Deepawali in a roadside tent is easy to miss. In October 2017 Indradhanush volunteers made sure it was not: they celebrated the festival with the children in the settlements at Kudesiya Phatak, Delapeer, Transport Nagar and Fatehganj, with sweets, new clothes and games.
A few weeks later came the year's school uniforms. Distributions were held settlement by settlement — Delapeer, Faridpur, Nakatiya, CB Ganj, Bhuta and Fatehganj Purvi — so that every child received two uniforms, a school bag and, with winter approaching, warm clothes and caps.
These are small things, but they are the difference between a child who goes to school and a child who stays away from it.
