Seven camps with SAIL in the 2017 monsoon
From Silver Law College in Bareilly to Pooranpur and Jatipura, the 2017 drive distributed 53,000 saplings, 35,000 of them funded by SAIL.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) supported the Vriksh Mitra–Gram Mitra Abhiyan in the 2017 monsoon, funding 35,000 of the 53,000 fruit saplings the Foundation distributed that season in Bareilly, Pilibhit, Kasganj and Mathura.
The season opened on 13 August at Silver Law College on the Pilibhit Road, Bareilly, and moved every Sunday: Labhakhera on 20 August, LBS College on 27 August, Narayan College on 3 September and Bisalpur on 10 September. It closed on 24 September with two camps on the same day, at Pooranpur in Pilibhit and Jatipura in Mathura.
At Pooranpur, about 1,200 farmers from the surrounding villages came to a wedding hall in the town. Speakers explained scientific methods of farming and why trees matter for the balance of the environment, and each farmer took home two saplings, including mango, after promising to look after them.
