A letter, and land for the Gadhiya Lohar families of Bareilly
A request to the Chief Minister in October 2022 led to land being allotted for Gadhiya Lohar families who had lived for generations in roadside tents.

For years the Gadhiya Lohar families of Bareilly lived in roadside tents, moved on again and again by the administration. Without toilets, beside drains and with traffic passing inches away, they lived with disease and the constant fear of accidents.
Through the Indradhanush project we had been putting their children through school for years, and we had promised to stand with these families in good times and bad. On 30 October 2022, when the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, visited Bareilly, we presented him a letter, signed by our General Secretary Ajay Yadav, describing the community's situation and requesting permanent land for their settlement.
Continued follow-up with government officials, MLAs and the District Magistrate of Bareilly led to a significant milestone: land was allotted for the settlement of these families. The Foundation then helped the families settle and provided the first necessary amenities.
