Vriksh Mitra–Gram Mitra Abhiyan 2025, Braj and Bareilly

Sixteen camps from June to October 2025: fifteen across Mathura and Vrindavan of 4,000 saplings each, and one for 1,000 farmers in Bareilly.

The first camp of the 2025 season at Nagla Papri, Mahavan, 24 June 2025

Preparations for the 2025 season began in April, when volunteers spent a month going village to village in Mathura and Vrindavan to survey where fruit trees could be planted. The camps began on 24 June and ran into October. Each farmer received ten saplings — Pratapgarh amla (N-7), L-49 guava, grafted lemon, Kandhari pomegranate and grafted bel or mango, and from late July Thai apple ber.

The thirteenth camp of the season brought the campaign home to Bareilly. At Silver Law College on the Pilibhit Road, 1,000 farmers of Bareilly district gathered, and 900 of them received eight or nine saplings each — 7,400 trees of mango, guava, pomegranate, orange, mosambi, bel, jamun, lemon, pear, peach and jackfruit. The chief guest, Dr Arun Kumar Saxena, Uttar Pradesh's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest and Environment, told the farmers that wherever there is a field boundary there should be a tree. Bareilly Cantt MLA Shri Sanjeev Agarwal and Nawabganj MLA Dr M.P. Arya were special guests, and Dr Yogesh Mishra, former principal of the Government Ayurvedic College, Bareilly, was the main speaker.
