Vegetable seed distribution
Packets of seeds for 14 to 15 kinds of vegetables for 8,500 village families in Bareilly and Amethi, so that fresh greens come from the courtyard, not the market.

Fruit trees take three years to bear. Vegetables take weeks. In 2015 the Foundation added a second gift to the Vriksh Mitra–Gram Mitra Abhiyan: packets of vegetable seeds, so that families who cannot afford to buy green vegetables can grow their own.
2015: Bareilly
Seed packets reached 3,500 families in 52 villages of the Bareilly region — cauliflower, spinach, fenugreek, carrot, tomato, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, beans, turnip, chilli, cowpea, cucumber, tinda and okra among them.
2016: Amethi
Packets with seeds of 14 kinds of vegetables, chosen so that something could be sown in every season of the year, reached 5,000 families in about 100 villages of Amethi.
Distributions continued in the villages of Bareilly through the winter of 2016–17.
